4th Annual Lemon Zest 5K & 1K Dash
Calling all Lemon Heads! Come out and join the City of Upland for our 4th Annual Lemon Zest 5K & 1K Dash is the first of our 2025 Healthy Upland 5k Series.
This is the perfect family-friendly event to celebrate Upland's citrus industry. There's nothing sour about this 5K!
LEMON ZEST 1K KID DASH RACE DAY SCHEDULE (9 Years & Younger):
Check-in: 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.
Start Time: 7:30 a.m. SHARP (Starts 30-minutes prior to the 5K)
LEMON ZEST 5K RUN ROUTE:
The Lemon Zest will start and finish at Magnolia Recreation Center located at 651 W. 15th Street, Upland.
FEES:
*Run, Don't Walk! The Early Bird Registration applies through midnight, Sunday, January 19.
*Online registration is available through Friday, February 28.
*PLEASE NOTE: Event T-shirts are guaranteed for all registration through midnight, Sunday, January 19.
AWARDS:
*Participation medals provided to all participants.
*Prizes and medals will be awarded to Overall Finisher - Male & Female
*Medals will be provided to 1st Place Finishers in each age category of the 5K Run.
BIB & T-SHIRT EARLY PICK-UP:
*Bibs & T-Shirts will be available for pick-up at the Landecena Community Center located at 1325 San Bernardino Road, Upland on Thursday, March 6, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
REFUND POLICY:
*All entry fees are non-refundable
*The entry fee for this year's event is not transferable to another participant or future events.

Teens, are you looking to broaden your horizons, gain valuable work experience, fulfill community service requirements, increase self-confidence, and assist Upland Recreation and Community Services staff with summer programs, special events, and activities throughout the City of Upland? Consider joining the City of Upland’s 2025-2026 VolunTeen Program! The Program is a year-round program available for teens, 14-17 years of age.

Step into the enchanting world of ballet with Upland Recreation and Community Services! Participants will enjoy a captivating dance demonstration by our talented instructor, Ms. V, and her current students. Following the performance, participants will have the exciting opportunity to learn a few ballet steps from Ms. V herself! A delightful tea party-style lunch will be served, featuring finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, cookies, and “tea” will be served in elegant, festive teacups. To make the afternoon even more special, a fun craft activity and souvenir photos will be included to commemorate this magical occasion. Be sure to dress in your finest tea party attire and get ready for an afternoon of dance, elegance, and fun! We're so "egg-cited" and we just can't hide it! It's time for our 3rd Annual Egg-streme Egg Hunt For Adults! Bring your friends and family and enjoy a night of excitement! Starting at 6:00 p.m., indulge in tasty treats from on-site vendors, enjoy a cold beer from the beer garden hosted by Upland Rotary, and groove to upbeat tunes. Get in on the fun with competitive games and capture memories with the Upland Recreation and Community Services bunny! At 8:00 p.m., the egg hunt begins! Bring a flashlight, bag, or basket and get ready to hunt in the dark for your chance to win "egg-cellent" prizes. Find eggs filled with candy, raffle tickets, and "Instant Win" prizes donated by local businesses. You won't want to miss this "egg-citing" adventure! New this year: Be sure to recycle your plastic eggs on site for a chance to win additional prizes!

Spring Egg Scramble For Kids

Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration
Let's come together to make a difference! Join us for a fun and educational event featuring informative booths, eco-friendly crafts & games, E-waste recycling, paper shredding, and bulky item disposal. Free compost & mulch give-a-way for Upland residents only, while supplies last. Please bring shovel and container for transport. No plastic bags allowed. Bulky-item disposal accepted items: appliances, metal, bulky items (sofas, mattresses, furniture, etc.), and paper. Non-accepted items: tires, loose or hard-to-handle material, hazardous waste material, dirt, rock, concrete, or construction waste.

Butterflies In May

Butterflies In May is an enriching and interactive educational experience for children combining science and creativity. The hands-on activity provides a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about the fascinating life cycle of butterflies. By watching the caterpillars grow, transform, and emerge as butterflies, children can gain a deeper appreciation for nature's wonders and a firsthand understanding of metamorphosis. Each child will be provided with a caterpillar home to decorate on site, a live caterpillar, and activities to complete at home throughout the transformation process.
